Expanding the region’s student population through promotion efforts, engaging that population with the community to establish meaningful ties to the region, and working deliberately to place recent graduates in the regional workforce.

There is a nationwide impetus to become more competitive in an economy fueled increasingly by ideas, knowledge and talent. In this growing knowledge economy, universities and colleges together form an economic powerhouse, pumping dollars directly into the economy and transferring cutting edge knowledge and talent to the private and public sectors.

An initiative of the Western New York Consortium of Higher Education, Campus Buffalo.org is designed to offer collaborative initiatives and innovative programs to students attending one of the Consortium’s 22-member colleges and universities; connect students to the communities in which they live; and, upon graduation, keep this talent close to home by facilitating regional employment placement. The Consortium is committed to strengthening collaboration among its network of colleges and institutions, as well as forging partnerships with regional private and public sectors, to enhance the experience of students and better local communities by contributing significantly to the knowledge economy of the Buffalo region.
